I tread lightly when i talk about Men's Fashion as i feel i am an amateur, i have only recently started to get to know Men's Fashion Designers and the clothes. My love for this industry started when i was reading books about Streetstyle and from attempting to dress my boyfriend (much to his dismay), i researched a lot of brands that aimed their clothes at people of certain sub-cultures; The Hundreds who say be inspired by LA/California Culture- Skateboarding, Punk, Surf and Hip-Hop cultures. Quiet Life who's owner Andy Mueller says his inspiration comes from Skateboarding, music and magazines and Stussy that started in the 80s in Laguna Beach, California and who's success has been attributed to its popularity in the hip-hop and DJ scenes.
The boys @ The Hundreds
Such brands are a combination of Surf Fashion of the 80s, the advent of small surf and skate brands in the 90s and the commercialisation of Surf/Skate-wear to Street-wear in the 00s.
Music and Fashion goes hand-in-hand, usually its a music mogul collaborating with a brand or putting their face on the front that creates some very popular pieces;
Onto higher fashion and for the metro-sexual in you.
