I have been thinking about writing a few lifestyle posts for a while, i try to stay fit and healthy and if any of you follow me on instagram @elliecollister will know that i am often posting images of my juice concoctions and various other motivational pictures in order to eat healthily, drink the right liquid, sleep well and exercise.
These days more than ever i am conscious of my health and the effects things have on my body. It started when i decided to run a half marathon and raise money for Macmillan cancer research after the illness touched my near and dear. Although i have always been a relatively healthy person (other than my outrageous sweet tooth and the occasional cocktail) the challenge gave me the opportunity to get in good physical shape and detox my body. Throughout my journey i began to gain a deeper understanding of exercise and nutrition simply through reading on the internet and my new found inspiration, ZEST magazine- don't worry fashion glossies still sit in high esteem on my desk. In exercise and nutrition variety is key, it is safe to say i have tried most forms of exercise in an attempt to get fit, i even tried a meditation class to focus my mind and regularly mix spirulina powder into my juices in an effort to cleanse my body, for those of you who have tried it, sympathise with me. Living with a devout yogi has also given me a new perspective on the inner and outer strength of my body and what it is capable of. Superfoods, cleansing, detoxing, health and fitness apps, recipes, exercies classes and work-out clothes are taking over my life but i am not complaining, it's not a diet its a way of life i intend to keep and share with you... My trusty readers.
Here are a few websites for additional information on exercies and nutrition that i am constantly referring to:
